Want to be a commercial airline pilot? Join the ACO!
On Saturday 31st October one of the Squadrons officers attended a careers event with CTC Aviation.
CTC are a major trainer of commercial pilots to some of the world's premier airlines. In a question and answer session at the end of the morning presentation a mother asked what her son, who was in his early teens, could do to prepare and improve his prospects for this highly competitive sector. The answer from the senior Virgin Captain started with a suggestion to 'join Air Cadets'.
The three aims of the Air Cadet Organisation:
• Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
• Provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
• Encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
With aims like this it is no wonder such employers rate the value of the Air Cadet Organisation.
