The Victorious Swimming Team Collect Their Awards and 2425 Towels!

On Friday 10th March one of the highlights of 2425 Squadron’s year took place at The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club. Its annual Presentation Evening was attended by more than one hundred guests including cadets, parents, staff, committee and local dignitaries. Attendees enjoyed a three course meal which was then followed by the awards ceremony itself, presided over by Wing Commander Stuart McNeill MBE from Air Cadets HQ at RAF Cranwell.

Amongst those in attendance were Councillor George Davidson, Mayor of Rushcliffe and Rushcliffe Councillor Debbie Mason. There were representatives from many other local organisations, including the Rempstone Steam and Country Show who presented a significant donation to the Squadron for the hard work put in by our cadets parking cars at the show last year. Mr Dubbin from the show committee was impressed by the cadets’ cheerful attitude even in appalling weather conditions on the first day of the show.
Our cadets were the proud stars of the evening and received various awards and promotions in recognition of their hard work over the past year.
One of the highlights of our year was winning the Wing Swimming competition against 28 other Squadrons, some much larger than ours. A superb achievement. Cadets received their certificates plus a bespoke swimming towel that was adorned with the Squadron Crest!Click the image to see all photos on our Flickr site. https://flic.kr/s/aHskQJ17FX
